"Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire" release date set

With its barfing pirates, animancy cats, ancient curses and angry titans, Pillars of Eternity 2 looks to build upon its endearing 2015 forerunner in a number of neat-looking ways. It also has boats. Lots and lots of lovely boats. Developer Obsidian has now announced Deadfire's due date: April 3, 2018.
When it docks, PoE 2's digital and physical retail variations will set you back $50/your regional equivalent. A deluxe edition comes in at $60, and comes with the game's OST, an in-game pet, a "special in-game item", a hi-res game map and a few other trinkets—more on which can be found via the game's official site.

An all-encompassing Obsidian Edition will also sell for $75, and comes with everything the deluxe does as well as Deadfire's first three DLC expansions—which otherwise cost $10 a piece.

"Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is our first sequel here at Obsidian and we’ve created something incredible," says Obsidian CEO Feargus Urquhart in a statement. "At Obsidian, we are all about stories, worlds, and characters, and in Deadfire we’ve done it again with a vast open world explorable by the player’s own customizable ship, character customization with enough options to make any RPG player want to make a hundred characters, and an exciting narrative that truly delivers on the reactivity that makes our games special.

"We’re confident that new and returning players will find Deadfire to be the RPG experience of the year."

Look out for Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire on April 3, then, and check out Andy's recent hands-on in the meantime.

Metal Gear Survive

STORY
A pseudo-historical sequence of events…

The year is 1975. Cold War tensions continue to ease, and the Vietnam War is in its final days.
The legendary mercenary Big Boss leads an army that belongs to no nation. Under the guise of a nuclear inspection by the IAEA, a hostile force known as XOF launches a surprise attack on Mother Base, Big Boss's base of operations. His soldiers put up a desperate fight, but their efforts are in vain, as Mother Base falls.

A moment after Big Boss escapes the area by helicopter, an intense light appears in the sky, and a wormhole opens over the base. The wormhole begins to suck up everyone and everything left, transporting them to some parallel world. A soldier who helped Big Boss get away is almost pulled into it as well, but manages to escape. A close friend of the soldier, however, isn't as lucky.

The soldier then mysteriously loses consciousness, waking up six months later in a facility belonging to Wardenclyffe Section, a secretive research organization of the U.S. government. A member of this organization, a man known as Goodluck, gives the soldier a special assignment with the following order:
"You don't get to sit this one out. You're already infected with that lifeform I was telling you about."

The soldier then travels alone to the same parallel world -- to find a cure for this infection, and to rescue those sucked into the wormhole half a year ago. Waiting on the other side is a hellish landscape where victims of the infection have transformed into grotesque creatures known as Wanderers. The soldier also encounters a member of none other than XOF, and together their bitter struggle for survival begins...

Turok 1 and 2 Release for "XBOX ONE" release dates confirmed ~ My Kind of Rig

Turok 1 and 2 Release for "XBOX ONE" release dates confirmed

About a couple of months ago, Night Dive Studios’ remaster of Turok: Dinosaur Hunter received a PEGI rating for Xbox One, indicating that it and the remaster of its sequel, Seeds of Evil, would be coming to Xbox One soon. Now, both of the updated titles are making their way onto the current generation platform on March 2, 2018, as confirmed by the games’ appearances on the official Microsoft Store.

As seen below in the trailer for Night Dive Studios’ Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, the classic game that originally made its debut on the Nintendo 64 has been restored and enhanced with a new visual engine and fresh features for its remastered iteration on Xbox One. For those who want to pick up the first game in the series, as well as Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, both are individually priced at $20 apiece.

With Night Dive Studios having released some fresh footage for its enhanced version of Turok 1 today, there may be some who want to see some visuals for Seeds of Evil before committing to purchasing both of the remasters. Thankfully, the developer has previously put out a trailer showing off the refinements made for the second entry, but it’s worth noting that the clip shows assets from its PC iteration. Despite this, it’s safe to presume that both the Xbox One version and PC release will boast most, if not all of the same features.

Taking all of this into consideration, it will be interesting to see if fans’ demand for the remasters of Turok 1 and 2 for Xbox One will actually translate to concrete sales for the titles on the system. While many are certainly influenced by the nostalgia of playing the original titles, some who have clamored for the games to come to Microsoft’s current generation console may eventually decide to save their money for some of the most anticipated new games of 2018 instead.

Night Dive Studios’ remasters of Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil are set to release on March 2, 2018 for Xbox One.
